Neighbourhood Magnolia Tour

The magnolias in the neighbourhood are in full bloom. Here are just a few pictures of some of the amazing magnolias I see while walking my little one to school every day.

While the saucer magnolia blooms are impossible to ignore, I actually prefer the smaller star magnolia blossoms. They all might be in for a shock tonight though. The cold has returned with a vengeance and the blooms are likely to be covered in frost tomorrow morning.

I love pink magnolias! I wish they grow better down in my area.

Wonderful magnolia pictures..
What a shame if the lovely flowers would be damaged by late frost.
My new Leonard Messel magnolia is tucked away in a protected garden area and has many new flowers.

- Cheers.

Yes, they are so pretty. How neat you get to walk your little one to school. Your neighborhood reminds me of that tour I did on my blog not long ago about.. The homes that big tobacco built. It was a neighborhood like yours, quaint and beautiful. Folks had maintained and refurbished all the homes. I love the star magnolia best too.

I am a big fan of the Magnolia but have never made the commitment. I also prefer the smaller Star/Royal Star blooms. I have the perfect spot for one...maybe this year. And yes, we got hit with a nasty frost last night and now the Magnolia trees that were out in the open look like they are draped in wet paper bags...all good things must come to an end I guess.

I would love to have a magnolia tree. Their blooms don't last long, but they make up for it with their lavishness! Pretty photos.

What beautiful magnolias! I'm kind of surprised to see that they grow that well, that far north. I'd love to have a star magnolia.
