A Modest Start

This past weekend was the best weekend of the year so far. Sunshine, warm temperatures, and a chance to spend the day outdoors. The garden is still in the midst of its slow awakening. That's why this single crocus peeking through the fresh green chives was such a happy sight. It is a modest start to the growing season to be sure. But there's nothing wrong with a little modesty.

Oh, happy day... when the flowers appear! My daffs, which have been in bud forever, finally bloomed... weeks behind the normal time.

My crocuses just pierced the top of the soil this past weekend - finally, the end is in sight up here in Ottawa...

My lawn looks like a bad haircut-lol. I think my neighbors got some of my good grass seed. I was thankful for the good rain but it washed that seed right in to their yard. It is so good to see Spring. It has been a cold one though and we've got plants in over stock at work several isles long. We need it to turn warm and stay warm. I'm glad you got flowers coming up. It does change your whole frame of mind. I think I may even get to wear shorts to work this week. My white legs will be so white people will need sunglasses.
